An important part of our practice has always been defending
individuals and corporations in disputes. A majority of the defense
cases have been at the request of insurance companies. Commonly our
defense cases concern motor tort, wrongful death, construction injuries,
building failures and construction disputes, product liability claims,
worker compensation, policy and coverage disputes, malicious
prosecution, interference with business rights, libel and slander,
intentional torts, slip and falls, fire/arson claims, property disputes,
real property litigation, and insurance policy or contract
interpretations.
Insurers we have represented in federal and state courts include
some of the major insurers in the Maryland-District of Columbia area.
We are familiar with the different court jurisdictions which have
varying dynamics and considerations. Realities and practicalities of
handling cases in these various areas must be determined and examined
for impact in each case. Our familiarity with the jurisdictions and the
courts is an advantage in handling assigned cases.
